Member-ownership Development Committee
Initiate and sustain member-ownership in West Chester Food Co-op. Establish and implement means to actively engage member-owners. Coordinate with Marketing in planning and executing member-ownership drives and meeting new member-owner goals.
Identify and recommend options for legal counsel as the need arises, research and guide legal processes, work with legal expertise to prepare required legal paperwork and filings, insure that all legal filings are current.
Communications and Marketing Committee
Develop, keep current, and oversee implementation of the strategic communications and marketing for West Chester Food Co-op. This includes building recognition of the West Chester Food Co-op brand and maintaining its integrity, developing and maintaining the Co-op’s website and other social media outlets, and developing and managing direct mail, digital promotion, publications, email/newsletters, brochures and marketing materials, etc. in support of the Co-op.
Perform budget forecasting and cash management, institute and maintain accounting/financial systems, guide efforts to secure debt and equity financing, insure general fiscal responsibility.
Maintain an ongoing understanding of the Co-op’s overall information management needs. Advise on key information management decisions particularly the selection and implementation of software, hardware, and IT services. Insure the integrity and security of all electronic data.
Develop criteria for evaluating potential sites, canvass possible sites in the community, assemble a short list of potentially viable sites and key attributes including lease cost and terms, zoning and restrictive covenants, potential for contingency lease, and options for expansion. Recommend due diligence requirements for sites under consideration. Negotiate lease or purchase agreement.
